Actually purchased in May (so fairly recent). Bought a container and filled it with Mazus Reptans and Helianthemum Ben Fhada alpines. The Mazus is a vigorous creeper and forms a trailing mass of stems and foliage with abundant lilac coloured blooms with orange spots at their throats from April to June and again in September. BenFhada1.JPG . In winter the foliage turns a burgundy colour. The Ben Fhada blooms (yellow flowers) May to early July with a flourish and occasionally afterwards. Photo taken late May.

You'll be overrun by Dwarf cavendish soon Armandii.. I used to have one until I left it outside by accident and it was killed by a +1C frost. It loved rain and humidity though, absolutely loved it.

As you can see behind ...my garden in my new house is in need of a lot of TLC. It was full of 6ft weeds so have cleared it all and am going to prepare it for turf soon. I started buying some plants this week and have decided to go for different plants than I have used before. Going for a little exotic planting ie: palms, ferns, hosta etc. But saw these today and could not resist :WINK1:

My local Homebase were selling them the other day when I was in.

Different colours and I was sorely tempted.........

No pictures yet but I've just bought a Canna 'tenerife' off the sale trolley at Wilko's for £2; it's got 3 healthy suckers, has flowered but got two big fat seed pods, so effectively I've got a plant I could split and seeds for a couple of quid :dancy::biggrin:

Also bought a pack of 3 small (approx 6") terracota/clay pots from Tesco which are reduced to £1.53 having previously been almost £4..:dbgrtmb:

went to carboot .... bargains galore .... bought a few items ...

                      such as:

a pair of Trident Advantage wellington boots .... hardly worn and for a fiver

fitted one, and perfect fit ...

got home, and my son scrutinized them ...

one is a size nine and one is a size ten???

so, I will be gardening with a 'limp'

:lunapic 130165696578242 5: if you paid a fiver for odd boots you need your head testing. but if they fit, maybe u need your feet testing!
