I just got the wheel barrow, the plants were an additional £200 and six months effort :-(

Bargain Couldn't make a Wheel barrow for that price.

Garden looks lovely, as you know, i'm convinced Scotland is still under the ice sheet so i'm still amazed

 

Ironic, In the past year I have shifted six tons of stone and rubble, with the plastic bag and carry method
Nearly complete and I buy a wheel barrow :-)

Still got three tons of soil and stones to sift, so not wasted, and when the neighbours see my ROCK DUST RESULTS

Popped in to Aldi and they were selling off some fruit bushes/plants for 79p (originally £3.49, then £1.99), Blueberries, Tayberry, Goji Berries etc.....most were bone dry and on the verge of death (not saying anything about this company's watering policy ), but I found one Tayberry still in damp compost and looking healthy so I rescued it

 

The Gaffers would have a baby at all the waste through lack of watering.....around here the 'big' plant centres are selling amaciated plants with very little reduction.. and only seem to sell them at a reasonable price when they are seriously at the point of no return....

 

Well I also saw this when walking past our local florist that I got the Canna from last week, they were only just putting them out, so I returned later and got one; a Hibiscus Moscheutos Guido; I love Hibiscus so couldn't resist this one

It doesn't have flowers as large as Hibiscus Newbiscus (fingers crossed for seed later in the year for that one ), but the colour is similar...

guys this is called addiction , but honestly what can you buy with £3 , I`ve seen many of those plant from specialiced nurserys selling them for a fortune .....
The gloriosa has 3/4 tubers inside , if I want to order the tubers will cost me more in postage.

Always amazes me. Local homebase is particularly bad, but even my local Garden Centre Group (formerly Wyevales) is pretty bad. I cannot understand why they don't even have capillary matting on the display benches - they just water by hand using a hose with a wand, water goes everywhere including on the plant & pot of course, but at least with capillary matting all the water that "missed" would still find its way to a pot - even the pots that were missed altogether.

If it hasn't sold in a week its no longer fit for sale ...

 

Nice coffee table material and pretty good condition for £3.50. All three are hardback.
