    I've become a terminal case I'm afraid............

I went onto Thomson & Morgan's website with the sole intention of purchasing a Passiflora 'Azure Passion' to climb up the trellis on the wall at the top of my driveway, and ended up buying the following

Asarina scandends 'Jewel Mixed' seeds (1 pack) - saw it posted by a fellow GC member and thought it was just the ticket for covering some fences

Lobeila erinus 'Blue Splash' seeds (1 pack)

Malva sylvestris seeds (1 pack) - I am a sucker for a mallow :oopss:

Marigold 'Lemon Mum' seeds (1 pack) - well, they were pretty.......

Geranium 'Maverick Mixed' F1 Hybrid seeds (1 pack) - purely to try growing them fron seed

Pansy 'Padparadja' F2 Hybrid seeds (1 pack) - allegedly perennial?

Passiflora 'Azure Passion' (1 jumbo plug)

1 Tree Lily Collection (9 bulbs)

and a 'Gardening Equipment' selection worth £100 (allegedly) for £20 - - - how bad can it be???

I couldn't help myself, honest guv!

Ach, it was a £20 lucky dip - if I get £20 of usable stuff from it, anything more is a bonus. I'm trying to be optimistic.......

I'm sure there's £20 of goodies in there ... but equally I don't suppose the Vendor is making a loss on it !

Amulree Exotics has a 50% off sale on ... so I tottled up there (Norwich) and filled up the car a bit ...

Nice Canna General Eisenhower which is a good 7' tall, huge red flowers (it's been on my WishList for a while) for £8 reduced to £4 ... :), a couple of Snow Tower Echiums (I've only got the ordinary blue ones, and I was going to buy seed of the White to have a go at that) for £4 each, and a few other bits and bobs ... I'll make a list later.

Like many things lately, the inspiration came from a thread on here - as soon as I saw them, I wanted them for the back of a border (basically to hide a 6ft fence); if they decide to split and take over the entire border in time, they are welcome to do so :)

            Today's purchases:

            IMAG0064_BURST002_COVER.jpg

            IMAG0065.jpg

Four packs, two of each of Viola Orange Duet and Viola Ice Blue from the 'oops we tried to kill them' section at my local Homebase for 50p a pack, 3 packs of Cineraria Maritima (£9 for three), and three packs of 36 mixed viola (£9 for the three)

That sorts a wee splash of winter colour for just over £20 - not bad :)

A visit to the Palm Centre before Kew yesterday. No small Brahias or Butias but I picked up a good size small Waggy reduced from £19 to £15 and two Chamy H Cerifera £6 each, not bad.
The two Chamys are pot bound but too late in the season for repotting, I'll leave them till Spring.

Interesting you say that, I take the view that anything I buy that is well established in its pot (which is most things, as that is the point at which it makes sense for a nursery to be selling it :) ) I pot on when I receive it (if I'm not ready to plant it out)

I'm curious as to your thinking on this - prevent the plant from potential over watering during the winter and root-rot maybe?

I bought Eucomis pole-evansii in the sale (£4.00 :) ) the other day. I had no knowledge of that variety, but bought it because I liked the look of the impressively large strapping leaves. Now I've Googled it I read that the flower spike can be a metre tall - that sounds impressive for a Eucomis :)
