          Four split bags of sharp sand from B&Q for a quid each :snork: To mix into my clay border to help with drainage.

            Picked up a salix Nakuro nishiki, about 5ft for 12 quid at my local sell everything shop. The selection of stuff they have is astounding, big dahlias for 2 quid, bamboo for 3 quid etc.... You could really fill a big border choc full of stuff for 50 quid. Good quality plants as well!

            The foliage matches my acer for colour at the right hand side too, lavverly!

                    Going to try to give the Bindweed a hard time with some higher strength Glyphosate

                    Decided that there is no point waiting for the singelton snowdrops I bought in the Spring to bulk up by natural division, so going to twin-scale all the bulbs that I bought and cross my fingers :) Plastic bags are more likely to bring scales into contact with each other, compared to tubs, which could spread mould etc. between them, so advised that tubs is better. Also easier to see what is going on at each weekly check.
