Shrub identification please

    Yes, that thought had crossed my mind, thanks.

    Do you think the red stems (in my Piccie) are "normal" or a more special cultivar? (The contrast of leaf & stalk was what attracted me to it)

    Kristen, if, as I say, it`s Rhus laciniata, then it is normal.:thumb:

    Thanks, I'll give it a go then. (All the pictures I could find with Google didn't have such red stems, hence the question, but it did look good in Beth Chatto's garden, and what the heck, I can always threaten it with Roundup!)
