Shrub suggestions for a shady spot

    In the first photo in the original post, is that a Rhodo hanging over the fence from next door (have left my glasses at home today so can't see properly)?

    I have the same ph tester as below

    Tried it a few times and it doesn't seem to move at much or at all, I placed it in the soil where I planted the rhodo it moved fractionally towards the acid side, Am I using it correctly?

    The plant hanging over the wooden fence i think is ivy

    You could get a test-tube test as a comparative. If the two agree on a range of samples you are good-to-go :)

    I was referring to the taller plant overhanging the fence, which is closest to the tree at the front left of the pic as you look at it. Hope that makes sense
