    Dave W,

Thank you, I started it purely because I'm jobhunting at the mo and it can be a bit depressing! Then that evening with my cats I realised just how simple things can really lift your spirits and make you smile.
I have so enjoyed reading everyones simple pleasures, it has been such a joy so I reckon we keep this as a good mood thread and we keep posting things that have put a spring in our steps!

Hi, TO, just want to say good luck with the job hunting and having been in HR/Personnel for more years than I care to remember, I know what people are going through.

I've been down that road myself many times ... having actually to make myself redundant once at Hozelock and not telling anyone else and then staying on to do their pensions before I left  ... good gardening practice! :D ).

My thoughts are with you! [IMG]

Thanks LOL for that lovely message, my job is out there. In the meantime all four cats are on the sofa with me now, it's like yoga if I get up and try to sit down again!

I had a lovely simple things moment today, inspired by this thread!

I was out in the garden in the rain, picking grass for my guinea pigs, and taking a couple of pictures with my camera - that in itself was a simple pleasure!

I noticed the rain on the alchemilla mollis - and remembered the day my son and I (when he was 3 or 4) watching the sparrows in our old garden drinking the water droplets. Another simple pleasure!

So, remembering this thread, I decided to stay for a while, not run into the house out of the rain. I crouched beside the plant for a couple of minutes, and watched the droplets form, and grow and them slither off the leaf. For those moments, I couldn't have wished to be anywhere else in the world!

Thankyou for this thread, and all the best with the right job finding you when the time is right! It will! [IMG]

Yeah, good luck TO. I've been made redundant 3 times. It's not a door closing, it's a door opening. That sounds so trite! You'll find out that where you end up is better than where you were. Gives you time to re-assess [IMG]

I'll be shutting down soon, TO, but what do you actually do, if I'm not being too rude?

    Jarbax,

Loved your photo and cajary, I entirely agree, my last job wasn't for me and I totally believe in fate. Being unemployed for a bit has given me a nice rest!
Anyway, to get back to the point I had another simple pleasure today. I walk my neighbours dog for her as she can't any more and today about 7.00 pm we were at the top of the hill we climb when the sun came out again. All the leaves and wildflowers were glistening, the rabbits were playing in the fields and the calves and lambs were content following their mums. There was absolute peace apart from the lovely sounds of the animals and birds.

That sounds wonderful dancing queen. I used to do a lot of walking over the moors. Don't seem to get chance now. Very busy schedule with business and my job at the uni.
