              Nope, given up on it.
Its just one stoppage after another.
More penalties, and even going back to a penalty after being allowed to play on.

The best version of this game is the Sevens tournaments. Fast pulsating rugby played by dozens of countries. Will be in the Olympics and Im expecting it to be a massive favourite with wordwide viewers.

Coming from Wigan , the best version of the game without a doubt is Rugby Super League :dbgrtmb:
I used to play union at school , but I can't really understand it now

Stick to MotoGP. Or watching paint dry!

Probably! For all round fast paced entertainment it is unmatched. Sadly it is slightly sneered at by the traditionalists, although not to the extent that crickets Twenty20 is.

After my time in Oz I became a convert. I'll never forget the Wigan Bath cross code challenge and Wigans triumph in the Middlesex Sevens back in '96!

Well think that's me had Rugby Union. I watched all the Six Nations matches and there was hardly a decent game out of all of them. I stopped going to the games about 5 years ago as so expensive and not really worth it to me any longer. My brother was pretty good, playing for English Schoolboys, having a trial for England and playing for London Scottish back in the day. He was horrified when Union went pro and thought it would do the game no favours...he was right. What the he.. has happened to the scrum and actually hooking for the ball? I haven't seen a ball put into the scrum straight in years. As for the time taken and "ticks" when kicking penalties and conversions, words fail me. Agree re Sevens and will still watch League.
Southern hemisphere Rugby is still watchable but I for 1 will not be bothering to either go to or watch the Six Nations again, sad.

@silu - when the modern game is flowing it is pretty impressive. But sadly there is too much pfaffing about when it goes to ground. It's an area of the game that needs addressing. The scrum is a tough one though - the players are just too strong now for contested scrums to be viable (on the grounds of safety as much as anything else) but they are so much a part of the game that it is hard to see an alternative.
