Claire, as with a lot of shrubs DO NOT cut into old wood. I would say cut it back no more than two thirds into this years ( primary )growth.:thumb:

 

Okay, Will do that, I have marked the new growth anyway, so will just cut that off in spring. Thanks very much Dai, not spoke for a while.
