Well those two kind of put the pond into the background! Just a bit. Congratulations Granddad and everyone involved!

The pond area looks like a very nice place to sit.

I used to have a small one but had to upgrade to a large one, due to the sturgeon growing to 18". It was a raise pond to stop kids falling in although I did once.
I had a filter with a UV light and removable rocks in layered baskets, I think my pump was 2000lt per hour as it needed to be clean water for the koi. To aerate I had an air pump as I Han now fountain or waterfall.

I would love another pond as we have a lot of wildlife using the garden, also have plenty of room now for a big one but dog would be in it all the time

Thanks Gail yes we are all chuffed

        Thanks Redwing,

Yes its a nice area to sit we have a small area of decking with chairs and a bench and the seating i made into the wooden structure.

I am sure you could do something to deter the dog from going in, my pond is only small but it adds so much interest to my garden my armchair faces the pond through the patio door i sit with my feet up watching the birds and other wildlife flying around.

If it helps, my water-barrel feature still has some fencing mesh inserted on the inside, just below the surface, after my delinquent teenager weim was frequently found with her front paws in the barrel, looking mystified as to why she was a little damp...

Trouble is I'd need a digger to dig the one I want

I’ve never had a pond, but I used to keep marine fish.

The one thing I always had on my set ups, which at the time not many others had. Was a ozoniser. It made the water crystal clear. Almost like it wasn’t there.

Does anyone use ozone on their pond?
