Thanks for the pics Dee. That grass looks very effective - and would be a good contrast to the red Cordyline.

Joyce, I might try the Pelargoniums in the striking pot I mentioned earlier.

So...got to find this striking pot, work out what this grass Dee has is (and find one) and decide on what sort of tiles or pebbles I go for. That's after I prepare the bed. I love new garden projects :)

Whilst away for the weekend in Ireland I came up with an inspiration for the space. I've decided to plant a small Box hedge, keeping it clipped low, but with a taller "shape" at the end. Now, question - is it too late to plant box plants now or should I wait until autumn?

I think the formal look will go well with the Cordyline behind them.

You can plant box now Aaron, but if you do make sure you keep them well watered over the summer. If you let them dry out they will turn brown and die off pretty quickly in the sun.

Yes!! I was thinking of the ones in B&Q (or Homebase) actually - the space is only 1metre, so 6 of the small ones would fill in quite fast. Well, fast in gardening terms!

Talking about cordylines, what about this one that i brought a couple of weeks ago, isnt' it pretty, but must repot it now as it seems to have grown very quickly since this pic was taken.
