Snails on the grass

    This year has been slug and snail heaven due to the weather and their numbers have increased to epic proportions.

    There is always a certain amount of guilt about killing creatures but they are beyond serious pests this year and if you have dogs or cats, lungworm parasites can kill both unless they're wormed to prevent this.

    Have noticed too that they don't touch Fucshias. Or any other plant in my miniscule garden which contains a Hebe, huge Hydrangea. Houttuynia cordata and Anemones, Ivy and wild Violets. They seem to be feasting on the grass instead. Time to set some beer traps or other 'organic' solutions as I don't want to put slug pellets anywhere near where the dog goes.
