Hi Fran: It usually takes the form of an on-line open diary, (web-log or blog for short) sometimes around a theme or it can be just isolated events - not necessarily daily.

Here's a particularly good one written by someone who retired and went to live on a canal narrowboat.
    No Problem

Just to bring the topic back on track (sort of :D )

A composite panorama (3 frames, brightness adjusted and stitched with Photoshop Elements 2) taken a couple of days after the blizzard we had.

Here's a preview: Bishop Hill > West Lomond Hill > East Lomond Hill, taken 27 Nov 05 overlooking Thornton with Glenrothes to the North and the hills in the background. Well my house is in there somewhere!

The full size file is large, 1.3MB (cropped and resized from an original 2.4MB) and 5000 pix wide x 490 high - for anyone on dialup you have been warned!

    Pan Shot

Maybe with the snow forecasts over the holidays and everyone trying out their new Christmas prezzie cameras we'll have some more snowy photos.

Frogesque, what a lovely panoramic shot. Yes it did take ages to download (still on dialup) but it was worth the wait.

Fran - a "blog" is a Web log" a sort of shared on-line internet diary.

Hope you enjoy your travels in your "house on wheels". We bought one 18 months ago and have really enjoyed the freedom to just get up and go when the weather is right and the fancy takes us.

The problem is fitting in trips around the demands of the garden.

Sorry I handn't read/noticed the second page of replies. Frogesque had already given a very comprehensive explanation of a "blog".

Thanks Dave. This is the second motorhome for me - I had one a few years ago, to see if I'd enjoy it as much as I thought I would. I did, so now, I got my freedom (from work that is) again. :D What kind have you got?

    Hi Fran.
We gained our freedom - lost our class(es) in august 2004 when we both took early retirement from teaching. We bought a small Renault Trafic conversion and having decided that motor caravanning was a lot of fun upgraded to an AutoSleepers Clubman GL in May last year. (That's the kids' inheritance up the spout!)Luckily? we have we have a 26 year old 'apprentice gardener' still at home so he looks after the garden when we are off on our regular travels. Its the quid pro quo for me letting him store HIS bonsais in MY greenhouse in the winter!

Hi Paladin. Just wish we were a bit closer to the makers as there are one or two 'tweaks' they could do.
It's never been south of the border yet, but we keep threatening to do a circuit of family and friends in Lancs, Avon, Cambs, and Suffolk. Trouble is there is so much to see up here and much less traffic to contend with!
