Snow Watch

Snow cleared except for odd patch. Checked plants and they look ok.....way too soon to know for sure. Storm Emma did a good job in clearing the snow. Temps now around 4 or 5 I guess.
Hellebores, snowdrops, daffs, daphnes etc have all bounced back
Just a few miles further east in the county ice is still a problem.
Right.....back on track for spring

 

Can I spy your new Rhino of the greenhouse variety @NigelJ ?It, from memory looks very like mine, I have to use memory as I can see neither my greenhouse nor garden for that matter due to an almost constant whiteout, not fun at all and the worst blizzard conditions since we have lived here (18 years). It's not the amount of snow that we have which is about 1ft, it's the gales and drifting. Some jolly weather forecaster proudly announced last night that things were going to improve everywhere in the UK except the east coast of Scotland......guess where I live? It took me all my time not to punch the tv to try and wipe the smug smile off her face.

 

@silu Yes that's the new Rhino, just the surroundings and the water butts to sort out. The smaller greenhouse is crammed full of anything tender, or early in a pot that could be moved; didn't drop much below zero in there.

 

No more snow. it's cleared on the roads and slowly melting in the garden.

 

Not as bad as we all thought for our area, thankfully. Seems like we're having more snow today than yesterday though.

 

Just finished snowing even more, really quite deep now. Apparently that is the last of it.. Monday 10c with sun should finish it off

 

I think we`ve had it cold enough to kill off a few bugs.

Edit.... apart (maybe) for those living in theSouth Western extremities

 

Ah ha....just looked at the BBC forecast .....maybe the bugs in the balmy SW are about to be drowned instead
