A beautiful warm morning until lunchtime....temps around 10 degrees. A pretty wet afternoon but now sunny again so not toooo bad a day.
The Beast from the East 2 is expected to bring cold weather on Saturday night but snow only for east Cornwall so here in the west it should be just rain. Mild conditions again on Monday I think. :)
Some temporary protection for vulnerable plants needed for another couple of days if you are in cold areas ......hopefully a lot less severe than the original Beast from the East!

A cloudy morning with showers until the early afternoon with the temperature getting to 52f. The showers disappeared with the Sun, remember it?, came out for a short time and it stayed mild. Right now the temperature is 48f and the pressure reading is 973hpa.:coffee::snorky:

Blackthorn is out, so I'm guessing this is the Blackthorn winter coming up.
Lets hope that is the last of it and spring can begin.

But I've lived here long enough to think that aint likely to happen.;)

I agree @pete, in late Spring last year when it seemed that the frosts had all but gone along came one which burnt all the new Acer and Hydrangea growth so I we still have a long way to go until we are out of it.

Done a lot of miles throughout the Lincolnshire Wolds this week finishing off jobs here and there ; was frequently met with the depressing sight of huge blackened mounds of snow and mud by the roadsides ; a nerve shattering reminder of the 'Beast'. It was bad up there apparently .
Forecasters paint an ominous portent of what's to come again this weekend , a 'balmy' -9C windchill seeking out and destroying all flora unaccustomed to such extremes .
On the positive side ( I always find that difficult) , it's not going to last too long ; guess I'll have to hit the vodka bottle again .
