I'm not defending the media but Corbyn didn't half have a go at them in his acceptance/thank you speech. He went against advice, as his inner circle were insistent that he didn't wade in and castigate them but he wouldn't listen. Some of the reporting since then smacks of them gleefully getting their own back. He seems to have shot himself in the foot!

I cant say i have massively looked into anything he is into, personally nothing about him appeals to me and im not on the far far left so i doubt i will have much in common with him

The telegraph ran a quiz on what your corbynista score was and i got, can't stand corbyn

altho i do wonder how much the question of do you like beards played in the final result as i hate beards (no offence any bearded hairy people :-) its my weird hang up)

I have read lots of comments from people on many articles to do with corbyn in papers and on facebook and what i find completely shocking and disgusting from people is how much hate there is either towards the corbyn and the left or to the nasty tories and how disgusting and hateful and nasty and malicious the comments are.

I think its good to be passionate about what you beleive and to be involved in politics and everyone will never agree but to be nasty and malicious and hateful to whoever you disagree with is disgusting and worries me that there are that many people out there who are that hateful and nasty. Its just not needed you can put your point if view across and disagree and make your point without calling people names and being hateful and malicious and nasty.

No I didn't misunderstand your post, shiney. You didn't quote the relevant part of my post which addresses what you have said....here it is again:-

"Professional commentators misjudged him in the first place if you recall i.e. not rating his chances. Ha!!"

He is used to being alienated by "the media". It's the public that counts (as has been clearly shown in his victory). That said, of course I agree that the phone ins also have those that oppose his views - that's obvious. My point being that he is getting a large and favourable reaction though. It is interesting and uplifting also to hear how some have been won over. I enjoy hearing all sides.

I don't think that's quite true, RB:dunno: Corbyn has been voted in by members of the Labour Party, [but not the Parliamentary Labour Party], and not by the Public, so it is not clearly shown in his victory.

            I agree, but I wouldn't vote on it.:dunno::snork:

Ahh! :ideaIPB: So the first part of what you said, immediately after you quoted me, was not relevant. Although it directly refers to what I said - incorrectly, as it happens.

                  Hi ARMANDII,
LBC (standing for its company name 'London Broadcasting') originally started in 1973 and called itself LBC 97.3 as it was broadcast on 97.3FM. It subsequently continued to call itself just LBC and, after many changes of ownership, it cleverly used its initials to call itself 'London's Biggest Conversation'. After it went national it changed the name to 'Leading Britain's Conversation' to try and make it look national, but, as you said, it has a mainly London focus. :blue thumb: Although it gets people phoning in from all over the world!

On contentious issues, particularly politics, it allows a good balance of 'for' and 'against' callers but people on both sides only seem to remember those that think their way - as pointed out quite often by the presenters. :heehee: There are many very good points of view and quite a number of 'nutters' that make it interesting to listen to.

I've been listening to it for the last 42 years. :blue thumb:

I was reading an online newspaper article yesterday which implied Jeremy Corbyn was a loony leftie because he had a beard, but further down the same page there was another article saying how wonderful Prince Harry looked with his beard.

                  A loony leftie:

P.S. The Queen does not sing the National Anthem, does that make her disrespectful?

These beards need to stop! Lol

If the queen did sing the national anthem it would make her up herself and it would be weird. Who would sing a song about saving themselves? Thats would be plain odd
