So what do we think of the new Labour party leader??

I don't think he's a nitwit, Freddy, but his leaning to extreme left does seem to be impairing any regards to other peoples sensibilities.... and that's makes me wonder just how far he would go to force through his extreme policies should he ever be in the position of power to do so?
History has shown that extreme thinking politicians who get into power do so in times of a nations political unhappiness with the main stream parties and tend to be looked on as the person who will lead people to a social and economic paradise. Unfortunately, history has also shown that the opposite has happened.
I'm not saying that Mr Corbyn and his colleagues are in that category, but politically I think we are.................and you have to be careful what you wish for.

 

It's more like the Peter principle, he has risen to the level of his incompetence.

 

I quite agree but if he wants to win over the country he needs to make compromises and not enemies.

He seems to be making a lot of new converts but appears to be losing the faithful at, at least, the same rate!

The rumours are that he will sing the national anthem in future (according to his advisors).

I'm curious as to whether he will 'bend the knee' to the Queen when he becomes a privy councillor. These things are all just a matter of ceremony and should be followed until he can get them changed. (I wouldn't 'bend the knee' - but have a medical exemption )

It seems to me that he's still acting as a person on the outside who doesn't have a chance of being on the inside. So he can say and do what he likes. If he wants to be in power he needs to compromise on the smaller things and concentrate on the bigger things. It must be a nightmare being his advisors and publicists.
