I don't think he's a nitwit, Freddy, but his leaning to extreme left does seem to be impairing any regards to other peoples sensibilities.... and that's makes me wonder just how far he would go to force through his extreme policies should he ever be in the position of power to do so?
History has shown that extreme thinking politicians who get into power do so in times of a nations political unhappiness with the main stream parties and tend to be looked on as the person who will lead people to a social and economic paradise. Unfortunately, history has also shown that the opposite has happened.
I'm not saying that Mr Corbyn and his colleagues are in that category, but politically I think we are.................and you have to be careful what you wish for.:dunno::coffee:

If white middle class balanced boring grounded considerate caring tea drinking English gardeners suddenly chucked down their secateurs and shears and screamed "enough is enough" and went on the rampage. Ran through the streets hurling abuse hate and bombs. Carrying placards that threatened to cut the heads off non-gardeners and turning non-believers into compost.

Would he suddenly attend Chelsea flower show dressed as a farmer?

      I expect so.

      Pure froth.

As for the point about him having a beard?

        Perspective!

I don't see it that way at all. I see someone who is being authentic - true to themselves and not selling out. So refreshing in politics! He came across quite well at question time by all accounts i.e. listening to what the professional commentators had to say about it.

Of course his views tend to be seen as controversial to following the herd/towing the well established line but he has been voted into leadership precisely because of these views. People clearly want change. More power to him for bravely daring to stand up to be counted. [IMG]

It's more like the Peter principle, he has risen to the level of his incompetence.

I quite agree :blue thumb: but if he wants to win over the country he needs to make compromises and not enemies.

He seems to be making a lot of new converts but appears to be losing the faithful at, at least, the same rate! :noidea:

The rumours are that he will sing the national anthem in future (according to his advisors).

I'm curious as to whether he will 'bend the knee' to the Queen when he becomes a privy councillor. These things are all just a matter of ceremony and should be followed until he can get them changed. (I wouldn't 'bend the knee' - but have a medical exemption :heehee:)

It seems to me that he's still acting as a person on the outside who doesn't have a chance of being on the inside. So he can say and do what he likes. If he wants to be in power he needs to compromise on the smaller things and concentrate on the bigger things. It must be a nightmare being his advisors and publicists.

Was that to see the colour of Jeremy Corbyn's jacket or the style of tie he was wearing, because that's all some 'newspapers' wanted their readers to be interested in?

Ah...I think it may be called tactics. They did it to Michael Foot too, i.e. spoke about his jacket rather than his views...hmm. [IMG]

The news commentators on TV gave a more measured overview of what Jeremy actually spoke about and the impression was generally favourable. It was seen as a rather clever ploy to pose reader's questions although maybe Jeremy just wanted to get the public heard.
