Jeremy is bound to make a lot of mistakes in his new position as Labour leader. It is to be expected in my view. Of course the media will be all too quick to sneer and undermine him but he is used to that, rises above such cheap shots.

He is on a very worthy quest that has, seemingly against all odds, been found to be unpredictably popular. Not for nothing did he gain such victory and it would be foolish to quickly dismiss him.

If you want to get pedantic....by saying "people want change" it is a loose statement, i.e. does not mean either "all people" or "most" or "some". However, "some people" fits if you want to be editor. [IMG] [IMG]

Care to accurately define what you mean by him being a 'nitwit'? [IMG]

I think saying "people want change" is a sweeping statement.

Fortunately, I don't support violence of any kind, unlike some eh?
To those that say he's vowed to listen to others, it begs the question, why hasn't he listened to others in the past 32 years? He's clearly at odds with the PLP, so what chance for a Labour win? I don't doubt that he's a thoroughly decent sort with some likeable attributes and ideas, but it all counts for nought if he doesn't get elected, which he won't. I don't doubt that he's injected a lot of interest in politics and attracted a lot of followers, but unfortunately he will send a lot of Labour voters in another direction, myself included.

To be pedantic, I didn't say he was a nitwit, it was a question, hence the "?"
However, I think that someone in politics needs to watch out for causing offence, otherwise they are just shooting themselves in the foot, and might well be construed as a .....nitwit

There is something in what you say. However, the Labour party has been a diluted form of Conservatives for a while now. So the ones he will lose may well reflect those policies. To his credit though, he has dared to make Labour reflect what it was designed for - left wing status! I dare say his politics may be a tad too extreme to the left though to get him elected but, yes, he has indeed injected a lot of interest in politics and attracted a lot of followers.

It can do...except that Jeremy is not arrogant and is a democrat, i.e. he listens to the voice of the public. Also he has elected his team so will not be acting as a lone voice.

Yes, but are his team behind him? And more to the point, are they up to it?
