I really don't understand how anyone can see anything beautiful in any car. They are functional, polluting nuisances to me.

Everyone has to love something hornbeam, dont use my car every day but it is handy especially for me i have osteo athritis its great for doing my shopping iff there was enough room i would either use a bike or a horse, thats a good idea we will all get horse and traps, dont think it would go down very well where i live, especially the manure all over the roads.
When i go to newcastle shopping i would not dream of taking the car i get the metro.when i do go out in the car i love and enjoy listening to my favourite dvd and feel proud to have a nice car.

Saw a donkey and cart today coming back from the monthly market with the old couple in it sitting under an umbrella! Don't know why as it wasn't sunny today, 30oC but overcast. You see this often here. The best one is when they go to town in a tractor with a bucket on it and the wife sits in that with all the shopping. There was one parked at Lidl last week. [IMG] To some this is their only mode of transport or on foot. There's also a lot of gypsy horse traders and they'll be in their carts, usually a convoy of them, with about a dozen spare horses ... all nice specimens, I might add! - that's the donkeys and horses not necessarily the horse traders! :D

He'd change his mind after a spin in my car though, grin from ear to ear comes as standard when you have been in a scoob!

I reckon in the 40s over here thats all there would be horse and carts as where i live at one time it was all countryside not many houses then the demand for housing in came the builders and now it is all built up with loads of shops, houses and factories and of course the demand for the car over the years. must admit we have some of the most beautiful cars on our roads today.
It must of been great to see a donkey and cart we dont see anything like that here, thats why i like to go abroad to the old towns and really see how the other half live. When we went to goa all you saw was speeding motor bikes and the odd elephant.

Wasted om me BM. Been driving since 1961 and still regard cars as nasty but necessary. Drive a campervan now and would never think of washing it let alone polishing it. Need the rust and dirt to hold it together. Love to slow down and hog the middle of the road whenever anything shiny tailgates me ;)

    PS wot's a dude?

My agricultural chunky toy. Passenger side wiper was an optional extra! As easy to work on as a meccano set. Bet Mazdas don't last as long!

My second car. Any guesses as to what it is?

My first bike. Could beat a Morris Minor over twelve miles of twisty roads.
