    Probably pre-Trabant Dendi.

German and they produced one of the most innovative engines of the latter part of the 20th century. Pity it suffered tech problems.
The car in the pic had a 600cc water cooled engine with needle-roller bearings and could out corner a mini cooper and out accelerate one up to about 50mph. Petrol gauge was a folding dip stick! Front seats also folded which was a big bonus then :)

Dave, my father in law wanted me to have this but I simply have no room. Absolutely mad to drive, not sure todays new drivers would have the strength to turn the wheel. And the suspension ha ha ha! Great fun though.

Haven't seen one for ages. In 1963 I was a passenger in one when we drove half way across the Namib desert - on a road. It was a bit hard on the bum! We finished the journey in a specially adapted XK40. That was more comfortable but not quite as much fun.

    I'm into more comfort nowadays.

The old folk here always "dress" the donkey up with a unicorn-like affair on top of it's head, sometimes with a plume in it, a nice yoke and the carts are fab and colourful. A lot of expats buy them for display purposes in their gardens, usually the whole cart but sometimes just a wheel. The gypsies have plain carts and they all tend to dress in black, women in long skirts, men with tall hats, but they sometimes dress their horses as well. I love seeing them, old and gypsy alike, never bores me even though this can be a once a week occurrence. As they say here .. Eu adoro esta no campo! I love being in the country! :D :D

when I'm not sieving soil and killing plants I am looking after my websites, making clothes and accessories to sell in my online shop and at stalls, running a record label, playing bass in a band, DJing electronic music, promoting club nights and playing with my cats [IMG] (mostly just playing with the cats actually :D )

if my friends found out I hung out on gardening forums I'd never hear the end of it.

Cool, I managed to get a copy of the prodigy live at brighton in 1994 from some blokes mix website, absolutely brilliant set. They played the V festival a while ago now and we had free seats in the back garden as we are a stones throw away. Nothing quite like the escapism of full on tunes pumping down your lug oles!
