Have succumbed to a take out from the local Punjabi curry house.

Samosa chaat (Samosa covered with chick pea curry, yogurt and chopped onion)
2 veggie kebabs (strict Sikhs are veggie, apparently)
    1 mango milkshake

with a poppadom and half a jar of lime pickle on the side.

    Nobody's kissing me tonight!

Lassi is made with yogurt. I have the milk version. I think they whizz it up with tinned mango puree and sugar. It's rather, ahem, filling. Or was that the first course?

Its inbuilt to eat higher calorie fatty foods when the weathers bad for us folk who's ancestors endured the current ice age.

Folk that evolved in warmer climates don't have the same problem.

Thanks Zigs, you've given us all an excuse for the bad food we're eating.

I've had toad-in-the-hole this evening and right now I'm delving into the chocolate. :)

The wife and I had eggy bread (not french toast, definitely eggy bread), because we're all lurgied up and that was considered comfort food.

I didn't fancy that though, so I had rice and vegetables, including, guess what, actually fresh brocolli out of my actual garden.

It was. There wasn't much there. I bought 6 young plants last year. I got them dirt cheap because it was after broccoli season when I got them, but I planted them out anyway. They've been there all last autumn and then winter, and had managed to grow a few florets, which I pinched for my tea. I'm hoping that as the weather warms up they'll produce more.
