So to embed Marley, you have to have pics in your GC Album

:wink: Well so far Ydd, that is the only way I have managed to post a full size photo that is in my GC album...... Seems pretty much the right thing.. Otherwise they come out as thumbnails for you to click on to enlarge.. So I am assuming that is the way.. Tried every other I can think of & it didn't work for a full size pic...!:dh::lollol:

:wink: Oh & you can use that copy method for allot of photos from all over the place...

"So to embed Marley, you have to have pics in your GC Album"

You can do it directly from the message reply box, but it may not be for the faint-hearted!

    Press Go Advanced

In the Attach Files section click on [Manage Attachments] button

Press [Browse] and navigate to where your image is on you computer, or use the second section to "Upload File from a URL" if your picture is already in PhotoBucket, Flickr, or somewhere else on the web

Click the [Upload] button (your image(s) is then added to the "Current Attachments" section - and you can remove any if necessary)

You can close the Popup at this point, and in the Attach Files section (i.e. below the Message Box where you are typing your reply) you will now see a link to the image you uploaded.

Right Click the link to the image and choose "Copy shortcut" [IE] or "Copy link location" [FireFox]

Then put the cursor at the appropriate point in your message and press the "Insert Image" [IMG] icon, and into that paste the image location you have just put on your clipboard.

In my case that was "http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=39&stc=1&d=1224409475" and this is what it looks like:

You will still get the ThumbNail thing attached to the message, at the bottom of the message

By the by, I don't know if it is possible to disable attachments being displayed from OUTSIDE this site, but you might want to consider that so that other sites don't link to images here. A link to an image here, posted on a very busy site, could cause huge bandwidth requests over here, and if you can bar that they would just see an image saying something like "Please visit gardenerscorner.co.uk so see this image", which would be much kinder on bandwidth, and should get the author of the article to change it to a link to the appropriate page on this site ;)

I think the Thumbnails and "Lightbox" pop-up work pretty well - it would be better, IMHO, if there was a NEXT / PREVIOUS button on the Lightbox pop-over, so that where there are multiple images it would be easy to navigate round them (i.e. without having to Close-this-one then click-to-open-next-one ...)

For an example here's an earlier post with two attached images:

    http://www.gardenerscorner.co.uk/forum/showpost.php?p=253223&postcount=37

Dunno how much engineering would be involved though, although assuming that the new software version is using Yahoo's YUI library for the LightBox (as it is for some other bits & bobs), it might just be some minor configuration option - but only after some poor soul has spent days trying to fathom the YUI documentation!
