solar powered water feature

    May I point out that in particular with solar operated water features, you get what you pay for.

    Never buy one, which has the water running over the solar cell.
    Why, because the water cools the cell, leaves deposits on it and so reduces the efficiency of the cell / panel. The best ones to get are those that have a separate solar cell / panel . But also the bigger the cell / panel is the less sun will be required to make it run. The down side is the bigger the cell / panel the more the cost goes up, as good solar panels are not cheap.

    A well known manufacturer does make them in several sizes, but the price is such that for the average sized garden it is cheaper to get an electrician to install a mains supply.
