Sorry -didn't see your post until now @latimer . Yes, I just have pots inside on windowsills. The front windows don't get sun until later in the day, and I just move them to the back of the house on the hotter days, at that point.
I don't always prick out lettuce individually either. I do some to cultivate as full sized plants later on, but I mostly do successions [of different types] and use as cut and come again - outside when the weather's ok for them to stay there, and often in 'moats' to keep the slugs away.
I'd end up with far too many mature lettuce all at one time if I pricked out individually, which isn't much use!
I don't really add food to plants as I pot on, unless the compost mix is older, or it's flowering plants that need a lot of food to keep them happy. Veg like lettuce only gets some liquid seaweed later if needed. I also freeze excess basil if I'm not needing it right away.

Glad it's all going well @latimer . Just watch the standing water in the saucer!
I sowed some more trays of salad bowl lettuce recently, and it's outside, but under basic cover. It's germinated and doing fine. Now just hoping the slugs stay away from it...;)

May have to do a moat for them, or bring one indoors and leave the other in a moat. Always that juggling.
