Yesterday was a pretty wet one (which was really appreciated by the garden) and today will be bright with the temperature soaring to 60F+

It was a very good day. After the pouring rain on friday we ended up with a chilly, dry and sunny day. There were crowds of people and amongst them were:-

Moyra

sal and his lovely lady
Jungle Jane and hubby
Mahhdalia and hubby

There were lots of plants for the Great GC Swap and plenty left over to go in our plant sale

Hopefully, we shall have some photos to put on here (after being censored ). ARMANDII took on the job of official photographer .

We had nearly 300 people through the garden yesterday and we start again this afternoon. Tea, coffee and cakes were extremely popular (as was the Pimms ) and the kitchen helpers averaged 40 an hour. The homemade cakes were fabulous!

The plant sale was extremely popular with people going out with big boxes crammed with plants. (The lawn is trampled and black, all around the plant tables.) Some of the plants were in great demand and we were continuing to dig some out from the garden to try and fulfil the demand. There must have been at least 100 plants brought by GC members for the sale . The sale area looks greatly depleted but there must still be 600-700 left for sale (and Mrs Shiney may start bringing more out from the nursery area).

Any bibliophiles would have been in their element with the couple of thousand books on the bookstall

There were craft and jewellery stalls and Jenny's bee tea cosies were popular

Izzy was kept busy all afternoon doing Indian Head Massage and although we officially closed at 4 p.m. she was still working at 6 p.m.!!

The Flamenco dancers were very popular and the singer's lovely voice was a joy to listen to.

A lot of us went off to the Indian restaurant in the evening for a superb meal.

All in all, a wonderful day!
