Kristen, perhaps the GC Meet threads could be condensed into one?

      It's a case of "take the 2nd ... "

Could they be combined as a "GC (Summer/Autumn/whenever) Meet"? Maybe with a poll of the two destinations initially so people could choose which would be most preferable? :dunno:

Just trying to be efficient and economical, whilst remaining, effective :heehee:

Dave, they reflected the specialness of Mike and Hanna's garden perfectly.
Thank you for another tour round this evening,
Lovely to meet you and everyone else on Shiney's list. A most wonderful weekend, which I will not forget,

Proper Planning Prevents moo cow wee :heehee: Poor Performance ... Probably ...

That type of thing you mean? :heehee:

Was looking for who was interested in which/either, hence the two threads ... and I think the possible outcomes (fires up Microsoft Project to make a Gantt Chart ... and then PowerPoint for the presentation :heehee:) are:

Not enough people interested. Can it.
Enough people interested in one, but not the other
People want to do both ... perhaps not at the same time though :)

I guess if people want to do both one of the events could become a "next year" thing?

Then I'll need a 3rd thread for Sissinghurst and Great Dixter ...

Dah'ling, just like a menu, I believe you are over thinking things (and you really should have chosen chicken and not the lamb ;) although, admittedly, your decision on the spinach was superb!)

Naturally there will be a myriad of combinations to consider: hence why you do not provide too many options. :heehee:

So, make one thread: "GC Meet" (simple, to the point).
Offer a choice between either of the two locations as a poll (thus, you see very quickly which is the most popular).
Admittedly, there will always be members such a Jenny and a Loli who will want to go to both (greedy beggars/party animals ) so, a third poll option would be "both". You could also provide a 4th option of "neither/not my thing/not interested/not this time" - choose wording carefully ;) But that really would be superfluous.
Saves hours (lives/will to live ) on creating Gantt charts/Powerpoints :heehee:

As for Sissinghurst: just tell me when (I adored it! But I adored the shilling entry fee best :heehee: )

            Yours sincerely
The person known as "Mum"

I'm so glad you all had a great weekend, hope my tiny contribution at least generated 50p?

I did try but "Mum" was determined to go and despite all my best efforts, (and Comets!) , we couldn't keep her here! maybe next year? I'll go and "Mum" can doggy sit?

Looking forward to the official piccies!

Trust me, Vince, they garnered far more than a humble "50p" (Mrs Shiney knows her onions ;) )

Let me know when you need a dog sitter, Vince

I was so sorry not to get to meet you all yesterday, but had a great time at Shineyland today. We couldn't believe how long we'd been there when we left, the time flew by. We left laden with plants, books and cake filled tums with big smiles on our faces. The garden is fabulous, as are Mr and Mrs Shiney! On the way home mum asked if we can go again next year. I'll try and make it on the right day next time!

Great day, thanks everso to Mr & Mrs Shiney for making us all so welcome again:)

Garden looking fantastic despite the terrible weather we've had.

All the GC Members were lovely, especially my special Lady:grphg:

Bit knackered after the drive home now:snooze:

Why did no one ever tell me that before?

This is like my Dad saying to me "Do you want to mow the grass or weed the flower beds?" because he wanted me to mow the grass, and knew I was not smart enough to say "neither" :)

I should have delegated the task shouldn't I? :heehee:

Hi Vince, I took around 249 shots on the fantastic Open Day and I'm in the midst of sorting them out and processing them on Photobucket. I also need to contact some members for their approval and permission to post pics of them, but I'll post some tomorrow to be getting on with..:snork:
