The used undergarments and things for the weekend, glad I had the mattress up to check for bed bugs first :yikes:

Sorry for the delay in replying but after 3 and half hours of driving I got home, had a mug of tea, a thick slice of a Cake I'd bought at Shineyland, an amble around the garden, a sit on the couch ....and woke up about half an hour ago. What a great weekend it was. For me the weather was not a downer and the company of friends, seeing Spanish Dancers, 3 girls who danced with such life and energy, and a singer with a glorious voice, plenty of mugs of tea, sarnies and cake and surrounded by plants..........fantastic.
Having had so many GC members there for the day made it an even better day and everyone was chatting and getting to know each other and enjoying the day. I was determined not to buy any plants as my borders are creaking with plants just bursting out.........but I ended up buying 9 Phlomis, a large pot of Day Lilies, and 6 Bearded Iris:dunno::heehee: And as the home made cakes brought for sale by the friends and volunteers are so Mmmmmmmmm I just had to buy one.
I'VE JUST GOT TO SAY A HUGE THANK YOU TO SHINEY AND MRS SHINEY FOR ALL THE ORGANISATION, EFFORT, THOUGHT, AND GREAT HEART THAT GOES INTO EVERY OPEN DAY AND I TAKE MY HAT OFF TO THEM, THEIR FRIENDS AND VOLUNTEERS BECAUSE I KNOW I COULD NOT DO WHAT THEY DO SO WILLINGLY AND WITH SUCH WELCOMING SMILES.!!!:love30::love30::snork:

We had an amazing weekend, meeting GC friends and some new faces too. The farm B and B was faultless, the cooked breakfast was perfect even though Armandii DID get down there first! :chicken:
Mr and Mrs Shiney were the perfect hosts as always and couldn't do enough to make sure we were all looked after in the restaurant and Mr Shiney is an ace money counter
I witnessed Ziggys neck rub but the funny thing was Mrs Shiney was having a neck massage at the same time by someone else!! It had to be seen :snork: There were laughs galore, kisses, hugs and I was sad to say goodbye to everyone.

I dug some up out of the front garden for a couple who was leaving - and told them not to tell @shiney :heehee: Was it you? :)

We had a lovely day yesterday, many thanks for your hospitality! My little one had a lovely time running around the garden (once he'd woken up properly after his nap in the car). And I really enjoyed chatting to other members. Thanks once again to all concerned, and I hope to see you all again next year (if not before). I will try to be more organised and less last-minute in future! :-)

No need to apologise :) It was great meeting you, you didn't need to get dirty on my account :heehee:
They are now safe and secure in the garage and will stay there until we move. :dbgrtmb: Then, I plan on planting one up as an alpine garden (Mrs Shiney gave me lots of helpful tips about that on the journey to the meal: thank you, Mrs S  ); the other is possibly going to be a summer, "cut and come again" lettuce bed, but I haven't quite made up my mind yet  :noidea: :heehee:

Glad everyone seems to have arrived home safe and sound :blue thumb:

Just a brief note for now. :)

Thanks to all of you for coming.

Despite the rather poor weather on Saturday and the numbers through the door being down by 39% on normal we had record plant sales. :blue thumb:. This weekend has broken all records and just the two days has raised £4,000 for the charity. More money will come in over the summer period.

Sunday turned out good. For those of you who enjoyed the entertainment (Flamenco, Salsa, singing) the entertainment on Sunday by the belly dancers was fabulous and a few ladies go up and joined in - including Mrs Shiney. Sorry, I didn't have my camera to take a photo of her.

I'll try and post something later.

Joking aside, I believe my local gardening centre do hug days. I take it they find a willing victim (I mean volunteer :) ), and you pay for a hug to raise money??? Not sure because I have never been to one. Maybe @shiney would consider it as an option at his next gathering. Just a thought

If I offered to hug people we wouldn't get anyone coming along! That's Jenny's department :heehee:

Do you mean this sort of thing but we charge for it? Taken at Christmas time in New Zealand. :blue thumb:
