As they were free I got one from each of them :lunapic 130165696578242 5:.

Didn't want to be greedy and have more as they might have run out of them for other people. :heehee:

Just got back home (we stayed on a couple of extra nights in Essex).

It was a very good turn out of GC members, so lovely to meet everyone and put faces to names.

Sorry we missed you @"M" :blue thumb: what time did you get there?

A great big Thank You to Shiney and his good wife for all their hard work, making us feel so welcome, the Tea, Cakes and Sandwiches and for raising such a big sum for a very worthy cause :dbgrtmb:

I was disappointed I arrived too late to meet you :frown: - had my autograph book all dusted off too!
Think it was around 2ish? :dunno:
Mind you, the looks on some peoples faces when I sneaked up on them was worth being late for :heehee:

Did you do touristy things during your extended stay?

We visited some of Mrs JWK's cousins - we don't often go so it was good to catch up with them too.

Shiney hasn't known the name of this species of tree for years so Kristen has identified it and labeled it so that Shiney can't forget.:heehee:

And @shiney hasn't noticed a label attached to his tree with a red ribbon ... yet :)

(Although the one I found is not prostrate, like @shiney's one)

@Kristen We certainly did notice it :) and have left it there :heehee:. We never did find the correct name for it and neither did the RHS (they said there were certain anomalies to it). We're just happy to have it :hapydancsmil:

Well the story goes (that everyone, bar you!, was in on :) ) that per chance at Chelsea I saw one just like it, had a photo on my camera still, and a photo of the label :) so I think what you have is a close relative as the resemblance looked incredible similar - to me at least :)

Have to amend that: Mrs Shy Knee noticed it just moments prior to your second helping of chocolate brownie (at my last count! Bear in mind I arrived late! It may have been your nth helping  ). Roughly half hour before we set off for the Indian :coffee:

It was identified as Abies but the size and growing habit, apparently, didn't fit the varieties they knew. The prostrate forms don't grow to that size or height but they said that the rest of it looked like Koreana. When we originally got it we were told it would not grow big, which fits Koreana

Numidica is an upright version and usually conical :what:
