Special Invite To Forum Members - 2016

We took just over £500 more than last year.

Thanks to you all for your company, good wishes, plant provision etc.

Hope to see lots of you next year - although I didn't get much time to chat to you. It got just a little bit hectic!

 

Well, it was a special day arranged by two special people, roders, making it possible for some of the GC Gang to meet and get to know each other. Seeing everyone enjoying themselves, and the day, was a real tonic and for me once a year is not enough!!
I can truly say that meeting your and Mrs roders was an honour and a pleasure.......may we meet again, my friend.

Well, I was going to repeat all that every one has said about Mr and Mrs Shiney but it would be just that, a repeat.
But actually no praise is really enough for the time and physical and mental effort that both of them put in to ensure a great day. The basic hard physical work alone getting the tables, chairs, gazebo's, etc, is enough to tire an army out and yet both seem to tackle each job with an optimism and determination that conquers all. Then to tackle all the organisation, arranging the entertainment, the food and drinks, the goodies that can be brought and sold to add to the funds. As Shiney is the first to say and emphasize it couldn't be done without all the great hard working volunteers and entertainers but there are two Captains on the Shineyland Open Day Ship........and I salute the both of them.

How these Ladies kept going serving the endless queue at the window and doing the washing up of countless cups and plates I do not know, but they did a fantastic job and kept smiling!!
