                  :spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning:

Just returned from a super day at Shineyland.

First off we met IN PERSON for the first time such legendary GC members as.......
Ziggy, Amandii, Pete, Beckie, AppleBlossom, Trunky, Jenny Namaste.
They kind of summed up GC well friendly ,diverse and lovely.

The perfect hosts Michael and Hannah provided their usual fantastic hospitality and boy has the event grown.
When we went six years ago it was small and personal and it rained.
Now there is entertainment galore ,plants everywhere ,loads of friendly people giving to the very worthy charity and eventually the sun came out.:spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning::spinning:
It was like a royal garden party ,there were some incredible musicians and singers and the garden was very special.

I would like to thank Michael and Hannah for once again providing a very special day:love30::love30::ThankYou:

Me and Mrs.Roders couldn't stay for the meal as we had Grandchildren duties.

Hi Pete, thank you for the special mention / It was also very nice to see you!:spinning:

I arrived there at the time planned, not too early because I wanted my overall staying time to be within a certain time limit.

I was welcomed by the bubbly Beckie and Ziggy (kind of bubbly), with whom I spend a lovely time chatting at the table, prior to the evening meal. We then joined the other comitive at a nearby table, and eventually it was time for the dinner.

I have to mention that I came there by car, and I don't regret it for a second because there were some stunning view on the way there (that would be the street I drove in, which is not the quickest way to get there).

I did have to go at 50 mph though on the way to the restaurant, as I was following somebody that knew where the place was. I don't normally go at that speed but I did well -eh eh

Restaurant was nice. Two tables had been booked, one for the GC group and a separate one for the others. Hannah said that the service would have been quicker that way. I thought it would have also be nice to mix with the other comitive.

Nevertheless nice food (these chutneys were a revelation) and ...may I say...the bottle of Norwegian water alone ;) would have been worth the trip.

Thank you again to Michael and the lovely Hannah for hosting the charity event again this year, I look forward for the next occasion. :) :dbgrtmb:

and now goodnight    :snooze:

Can I just add my thanks to Michael and Hannah for hosting another thoroughly enjoyable day at Shineyland. The garden and the whole event are a huge credit to both of you and your willing band of helpers.

Great to meet up with several of the GC regulars again too, it's always nice to put faces to names.

Thank you all for coming and it was great to see you. :dbgrtmb:

I'm sorry that I didn't get much time to spend with you as I was flitting about like a blue ar**** fly! But I did get a very nice offer from Beckie :heehee:

Apple Blossom's dog (apologies but I've forgotten her name) is the most polite dog I've ever met :doggieshmooze: and likes salmon sandwiches :snork: Apple Blossom was here for the first time and is another lovely GC member. ARMANDII, Jenny, Ziggy, Trunky, Beckie, Roders (and his lovely wife), Pete and miraflores were as great as ever. Thanks to Anthony for sending the plants to take his place :heehee: and to all those of you who have sent messages of good wishes and those of you who were hoping to be here but were unable to make it at the last minute.

It was the busiest we've ever been and there wasn't much room to move around - which is saying something in our garden!! :rolleyespink: We can't calculate a definite number of people but, including the entertainers in the number it was getting close to 350 people, plus children and dogs who come in free . Then there were the 20 helpers (we couldn't do the event without them :love30:).

Our helpers in the kitchen worked phenomenally hard and served over 300 teas, cakes and cream teas :phew:. The plants sales were on the go all day with the helpers run off their feet! Allium siculum were, once again, extremely popular and all our stock was sold in the first three hours. That meant that I had to dig up loads more whilst people waited for them. I got called five times to dig up more batches of them. :hate-shocked:

People had also brought picnics to have in the garden :) and cars were parked all the way down the road for a mile!!

The entertainment went on all day with singers, dancers a choir and a Ukulele band. One of the singers is also a poet and she read out a poem of hers that she thought was relevant to gardens - The Evil Weevil . I've posted it on GC before but will find it and post it again. A couple of small hitches occurred with the different mixtures of sound systems that were here but it all came out right in the end.

The Indian in the evening was as good as ever.

ARMANDII, Jenny and Ziggy will be popping in this morning before going on their travels home. :dbgrtmb:

All to do again today :phew: but it's only half a day.
