Aw look at Oscar. Do we tell him our real names or our member names?
Pity you are so far away Penny, it would have been lovely to meet you. I am getting excited about it all. :lollol:

Jazmine, he doesn't need names. There is one sure way of being allowed past him - eventually. That is to give him lots of stroking and scratching. k-l

Hi penny and loopy, sorry you can't get here. :)

The plants for sale are coming along well. Mrs shiney is still putting in bulbs, splitting plants and potting on. We have, so far, got through 600 litres of potting compost and I shall be going out to buy another 300 litres tomorrow.

It may look as though Oscar is asleep in this picture but he is really in special 'plant guard' mode :hehe:. He is very good with the plants and although he sleeps in lots of different places in the greenhouse (benches and shelves) he never disturbs any pots or plants.

:) We would like to come too Shiney, as it's within range.......but it was a difficult decision between Shiney's or the Chesea Flower Show...........
Well it would cost two of us getting on for £150 to go there and we think we can do yours quite a bit cheaper...............:gnthb:....and watch Chelsea on TV.

      Thanks penny and Pal :thumb:

Pal, I've tried Googling our place. The 'street view' map (of our frontage) seems to have been done early May last year but the satellite view was taken in September '06 - unless you have managed to get a more recent view.

There have been some considerable changes to the garden in the last five years. We have built the summerhouse, removed over a dozen trees, removed a 30ft long laurel that was 10ft high and at least 15ft wide, pruned and shaped a number of other trees, made or extended quite a few flower beds, built a pergola etc.

I have only used the google generic mapping and haven't signed up to anything with them. Do you get more modern satellite views if you sign up?

Its too far for us to travel or we would most definately be there, we hope you have great weather on the day and the final few days before so you can "titivate" those last minute things.

If you can go I recommend it, as Mr & Mrs Shiney are two of the nicest people I have ever met.

      Steve...:)

That's a big list of plants for sale, I do hope you get nice weather shiney and do well on the day. I'd love to come along and meet up with everyone and see your lovely garden but sadly have something else on that weekend.
