Spilled over flower displays

We're supposed to shake them out? Oops!

 

My son brings me home the ullage, this is a mixture of all sorts of beer etc from when a pint is poured and a certain amount drips into the tray below or a new barrel is installed and some has to be drawn off, from the sports club where he works for my slug/snail traps. It would only be tipped down the sink otherwise. Make friends with the local pub owner perhaps.

 

What a good idea! My daughter recently started working in a venue on Friday and Saturday nights. I will ask her!

 

I thought the waste had to be accounted for.

Drip tray waste is poured away. Anything that is drawn off a new barrel is drawn into a specific bucket and then re-entered into the barrel after it has stood a while.

 

Back in the day ... when it was still legal to do so ... it was not called ullage, but, "Landlords Trousers" and was sold for a pittance to those poor (metaphoric and literal) souls who craved a beer but couldn't afford a "pedigree" one

 

Would stonecrop work in these containers? An article I read said that they are great in containers. The place it would stand would be in full sun or shade depending on the time of day and time of year. For reference, the patch of earth in the photo will be the home for my geranium Rozanne.

Me again, thinking out loud. Are chrysanthemum perennial? I've always thrown them away. Garden Centres etc are selling a lot of them off cheap. The article I referred to above paired the stonecrop and chrysanthemum in its photo.
