I like to chuck them as hard as I can at the wall or the tree. If they dont die at least they will have a headache, that'll teach em to eat my lupins!

Just cemented in my greenhouse base and spotted a huge slug on the ground spike in the hole. Needless to say he's got a concrete jacket now!

Sarah. YOU ARE AWFUL. Poor little slug. You never know. One day my recipe for slug will be perfected and that guy could have made a meal. After all I love escargot. (I'm not sure if I love escargot or just love the thought of 'You eat my plants - I eat you'.) Slugs are appalling. Even Ed does not eat slugs. (I haven't tried him on escargot bourguignonne yet). I am sure that like his servant (me) he will love them. [IMG] :D

He was big! Might have fed a family! I'm sure there will be plenty left when your recipe hits the kitchens! After all we may have run out of fish by then!!

We've been doing this and I can't beleive that the same ones do actually come back!
We've got loads of snails, so, I started putting an 'X' on their back with Tippex correction fluid before I flung them. Both houses either side of us are empty so they're being flung either side, they're being launched at least 10ft. Anyway, when we noticed the same ones come back, I'd put a red dot on top with a marker pen, and would you believe it - they come back again! Sooooo, when they come back a third time they get a blue dot too, and some of those have returned!! I can't beleive it! I don't like killing bids, and all the markers don't seem to be doing any harm, nor does flying through the air and landing with a thump!

There is probably a University out there that would be interested in your 'trial'. :D

Have you ever thought that maybe the snails enjoy their newfound ability to 'fly' and are coming back for more? [IMG] ;)

Paula, lol :D maybe you're right [IMG]

The whole experiment got me thinking...how long do snails live for? Mr Mac reckons you can age a snail by the lines on it's shell, like a tree. I have also often pondered how many miles a snail travels in it's lifetime? [IMG] (You really would think I had nothing better to do [IMG] )
