I went to the garden centre this morning for some compost and bird food, they have loose daff bulbs 1kg for £1:75 (about 20 bulbs). I've come home with1 kg of ST Keverne a large yellow flower, 1Kg of Ice Follies which have cream petals and a yellow centre and 1kg of Sempe Avanti which have pale yellow petals and orange centre. Still want some more Alliums( not sure which ones though) some snakes head frittalis and possibly Hyacinths.

I've not pressed BUY yet for some reason (total basket price of Must-Haves was £150 ... that's probably why :( ) ... my WishList includes:

Allium Mount Everest, Giganteum, Schubertii, Christophii, Azureum, Round and Purple, Gladiator, Neapolitanum Grandiflorum

Bulb planting depths can be very confusing. This diagram from Bulbs Direct I find very useful .

When planting up a container with spring bulbs , try layer or lasagna planting as shown in the photo below . I usually plant tulips and crocus , and not as many per layer as the photo diagram! Think I'll try a layer of daffs as well this year :dbgrtmb:
