    Thank you @Everhopeful :ThankYou:

I have managed to ID the little tree between my eucalyptus and crocosmia !
Earlier in the week I noticed a few yellow flowers beginning to open, so I hunted through my RHS plant books to see if I could find it.
It's a Forsythia and looks like the bare root plant on the left of this picture -

I've no idea how it got there because nothing has been planted in my front garden for years. At the moment, there are just 2 stems (well...one and a half because my puppy chewed one :doggieshmooze: which is now only about 8 - 10 inches tall :heehee:), one of which is covered with opening flower buds all the way up. I think I'll move it though because there isn't very much room where it is just now.
I'm going to have to plan this out because the Forsythia needs to be moved to give it more space, the Azalea I bought grows to 5 - 10 feet tall by 4 - 7 feet spread and the rose I ordered was delivered this morning too, so I'll have to think about where everything will fit best along with the woodland flowers I'd like to put there.
I'm not sure if I want to leave the beech saplings (behind the pieris) where they are either because it's tricky to get to them for pruning to keep them small. I *might* move those to my back garden. Can I layer beech to form a small hedge ? I'd buy a few native hedging plants too so that I have a bit of cover for the wild birds.
