The bees have been busy in the garden here today, loving the astrantia, just love the one on the left with the groovy legwarmers :heehee:

As you can see with the above post lots more bees , two bottom photos are of the bees on the new frames of wax , they are starting to make cells . And a awful lot more at the entrance coming and going.

                So all looking good

                Spruce

Hi Queen Bee Jenny :lunapic 130165696578242 5: your :WINK1: getting very bossy dont be giving Loli any ideas.

Had a look all "gals" next time I go I will try and get a photo of a "chap" drone.

Youre right about no pollen bags but that was on the new frames they are drawing out so I think a case of no " cupboard space yet " to put it away into . But I did see on the older frames quite a few bees with bright orange pollen sacs ready to be put away.

I will try to get a close up of the pollen in the frames bit akward with my gloves on and taking a photo.

                  Well spoted though

                  Spruce

Do you still have to tell the Bees stuff, like if someones died in the village?

Hi Ziggy yes lots of folklore if somone has died you knock on the hive to tell them (I think 3 times) , but dont knock too hard they will pile out and get you so you have been warned.

Just thought same with a new baby in the family

I will have a look in one of my very old bee books and see what others they have or you can add some if you want ??

My mums friend husband died he kept bees and at the funeral a swarm landed by the door of the Church half way through the service, now how spooky is that !!
