Spring still forecast to arrive Friday. Today was better with the sunshine but the wind was still chill and tonight, just watch the temperature plummet. Whats been giving us this cold, is high pressure and weather systems from the north and east.

But on Friday - a big low pressure comes in from the south west - temperatures well up - but much needed rain too. Its gonna be nice.

Warm enough during day here, at long last to get dirt under my finger nails getting back to the border I was working on. Wonderful.

Weather variable today, but very mild.

Walked into g/h and shock horror!!!
    Whitefly adults on my pelargoniums!

A man has to do, what a man has to do:
Tooled-up with the appropriate organic bug gun,
went back into g/h and fired straight from the
    hip! :D :D

How dare they, after looking after them all
    winter? ;)

The magnolia in the front garden is just bustin to flower. Four years out of five that presages icy gales and brown flowers, but on the fifth year.... We've not had a good one for quite a while, so fingers crossed.

No way to treat an apple tree - no doubt it continues to leaf, flower and fruit - but I hate seeing them like that.

I agree with Fran - I prefer a tree to be treated like a tree - espaliers are ugly, even if practical.
