Done!!:coffee: Sorry for the delay but I've only just come across your threads and if Joolz hadn't left the link I would still be searching the 1,000 odd pages of data that got sent to the basement by the Glitch, so you made my job a lot easier, Joolz:hapydancsmil:!!

Only because of the link, Joolz, but for that I would still be looking in thousands of "cardboard boxes" of completely mixed subject data in the basement.:coffee: I've got to go back down there now to pick away at recovering posts.........if I'm gone for more than 4 hours call the Rescue Service!!!:snork:

Good morning a,Mrs Woo insisted that we purchase Orange Dreamer against my better judgment as this Rose does not officially exist ,so I now have a standard Rose tree, which I know absolutely nothing about its origin ,parentage ect,I just hope that none of my frequent visitors ask me about it,Mrs Woo said don't worry about that, just do what you usually do if you don't know the answer make one up:whistle:(only joking)enjoy your day:smile:

@wiseowl Hello Woo...did you get any info back from B&Q about Orange Dreamer? I thought they would know it's parentage etc and have other information about it. :)

Hi Fern not as yet,I am in contact with most of the big retailers and I am afraid B and Q's are the least helpful if I get an answer at all,its quite frustrating;) all the other stores are very good especially Wilkinson's who are most helpful,in fact on several occasions they have even phoned Holland for me:smile:

:whistle:Not sure what or where to buy as yet but decided that like the town planners if you haven't got much room the the only way is up;) to be honest haven't looked at standards for years ,I am sure they are smaller now than they used to be,when I was a boy:old: they were all one size fits all, anyway that is my latest quest, enjoy your afternoon:smile:[/QUOTE]
                          Hello Woo
If I were to recommend any rose nursery for standards it would be Style Roses. At £27.50 a pop they are not the cheapest but always good quality. Mrs Mondo buys one from them almost every year when we see them at the Malvern or Harrogate shows. Always buy a good modern variety rather than one of the older, more disease-prone varieties that I see mentioned. I see standards as an investment that will provide years of pleasure. Mrs Mondo's most recent investment was a standard 'Open Arms' which will be a weeping standard once fully grown. OpenArms.jpg Open Arms bloom

Sorry Woo, I'm late to this particular party. Orange Dreamer? B and Q? Still at least it was cheap my friend! I hope that you won'thave to spend the money you saved onchemicals to keep it healthy! Feed it well and it may do well. . . . . . Then feed it some more!
Most standards throw up suckers from the roots, rugosa being the most common of the standard whips. Someone with your talent Woo should be able to grow one of those suckers on and bud up your own 1/4 standard in no time? Maybe I should post a threadshowing how to do it?

Good evening Joolz and thank you I will certainly follow that up my friend:smile:

Good evening Mondo better late than never my friend,I have no talent, just knowledge and my love of roses ;) I don't feed any of my Roses or use any chemicals,I'm organic as are my Roses:heehee: I must respectfully disagree that most Standards throw up suckers, more and more UK breeders are now using own root which don't produce any sucker's at all, but welcome to the party:smile: I do hope you have fetched a bottle:lunapic 130165696578242 5:
