Standard Roses

The good thing about Fragrant Cloud on a standard is that it puts the blooms right where you want them . . . . . At nose height!

Ha ha. I'm ok itching to get gardening! But another couple of weeks for me yet. Orit was suggesting "the white one" she means Iceberg lol

 

I didn't no there is such a thing as a mini standard rose. Are they any good?

Find That Rose suggests that Rumwood, Parkside Nursery, Sudlow Lane, Tabley, Knutsford, Cheshire WA16 0TP Phone: (01565) 652598 and Henry Street Nursery, Swallowfield Road, Arborfield, Reading, Berks RG2 9JY Phone: (0118) 9761223.
I know you've tried Rumwood with no luck. I checked the Henry Street website but they don't show standards at all? Perhaps a call would give better info? Same story at Parkside too I'm afraid.
I notice that you said Rumwood's were local? Then my friend you are obviously an Owl of Kent? I used to show roses at the Bexleyheath show until it was mothballed a couple of years back. I still have contact with the good folk in Bexley, in fact that reminds me, I'm sure I'm doing a talk for them in April or May! Better check! I have a couple of other options for you Fragrant Cloud, I'll keep you posted.
