That looks really lovely already. What sort of stone did you use in the end? [IMG]

We used York stone. I liked the colour and it almost matched the path we already had. We got it broken so it was a bit cheaper and it fitted without having to break it. We didn't want it to formal and square. It was like doing a giant jigsaw puzzle. [IMG]

Sorry back again more help needed.
    This time it's plants.
Are there any plants apart from lilies that can go on the bottom of the pool in water about 30 inches deep. All the ones I have seen have to be in water between 6 and 9 inches.

We have had a visit from the Heron. It as killed one of my fish in my lovely new pond and left it on the path in a pool of blood, a net is going on today. The mess it left is unbalievable. Plants smashed feathers and blood all over oil floating on the top of the pond. Horrible.

    Sorry to hear that Lyn.

I have also heard that thin wire, held about 12 inches from the ground, around the perimeter of a pond can also deter herons. Apparently they like to land alongside the water, then wade in; the 'trip wire' makes this difficult for them. :(

    Thanks all.
    I am pleased with it.
Not perfect but O.K for and old granny.:D
I didn't want it to look to kept, if you no what I mean.
I don't clean the moss off the rocks etc.
I'm growing the acer and a few other plants for shade.
Being south facing it can get very hot in the sun.
I couldn't believe how much the Acer had grown when I looked back at the photos.
    A bit more growth needed.
