Mine were in a container tooked right up against a small north facing wall that partioned my south facing garden, so they got direct sun from about 11AM. They shared the container with some spearmint. I figured the stock would grow much faster than the mint, so would fill the container before the mint needed the space, by which time the stock would be about finished anyway. It worked. The stock dominated the container until about mid september when it started to look a bit past its best. Next spring, the spearmint came up in abundance.

I only grew it that one year, and just because the picture on the seed packet jumped out at me as I passed. I really didn't put in any effort. I don't think I even bothered to worry about overcrowding among the seedlings. I just figured they'd either sort themselves out, or just die off in which case the spearmint would just have the container to itself.

That particular container was a major attraction to moths at night, so I hope you like moths:)

    hi clueless
I think i will have to get used to all the insects that coming from growing flowers and some veggies lol
this time i have taken the effort to separate each little plant but loads of work next year if i want to grow them again i might just combine the seeds with some sand so that they separete a bit from each other and dump them in a container and see how it goes :)
