As U2BG says your mobile can be tracked ,records are kept of where you withdraw money from cash machines , cameras on motorways .What about London and the congestion area all people and vechiles in and out on camera .As you know I drive a lorry which has a tachograph fitted which records times (starting and stopping) speeds and distance. We have to keep the last 15 days driving records with us at all times when in the trucks as a policeman or a Dept of Transport person can stop us anywhere and demand to see them. All tolls are on camera the docks are on camera ,even when we book on to the ferry its all on video ( for security of course),all the passenger lists and vechile lists are sent to the police in the port of arrival as soon as the ship sails so they have time to check everyone out before the ship lands (how do you think they know who to stop?)
Of course its just a way of raising more money for the government and it will come eventually when the planet is on its last leggs and something just HAS to be done.
Anyone know how much of your car tax is spent on the roads at the moment? I dont know but I'd be willing to bet its not much.

I was watching the ITN news tonight and they showed ice cores brought up from deep under the Antarctic ice cap going back hundreds of thousands of years.
They then went on so say that the warming effect that we are seeing now has taken place eight times before.
Are we sure that we are causing it?
It seems that we must always have a Doomsday to worry about, the cold war is over and the chance of nuclear anihilation is all but over so we've now gone over to global warming.
Who knows what we will be worrying about in another 50 yrs, what ever it is it wont bother me.

Its happened before Pete, but never so quickly. Don't think vehicle tracking is going to solve the problem though
