A noisy night last night with the winds howling, and rumbling in the roof, so I'd wake up several times during the night:hate-shocked:, and then snuggle down again and listen to the sounds until I fell asleep again. :snooze:
The winds were, and are, still blowing at a fair speed with the occasional extreme gust when I went out into the garden this morning to check on any damage. It's when the winds come from the South West, i.e: now, that my Green House is most at risk, but a quick check showed all the glass in place along with the door. So despite all the noise last night there's been little damage.:hapydancsmil:

To be held liable, some sort of negligence would have to be proved - unless the bin was in some way defective and that defect was known/reported but not acted upon, any damage resulting would be classed as an act of god

Well the roof survived and the winds have now gone, at least for now.

I think the Met office should start doing Wheelie bin alert, green if not much chance of movement, Amber if the receptacle in likely to trundle down the drive or Red for high chance of breaking land speed records.

          Simples!!!

My daughter in Ireland weathered last nights storm well. She told me, when I rang at 9am today that the Sou' Westerlies are less of a problem than the Nor' Easterlies as the stables stay warmer in the former whereas, cold horses get withdrawn and depressed and the yard is too icy for them to venture outside.
She has fuel and gruel and is high and dry in the house,
            Jenny

Wind and rain howled through here about 9 a.m. But it has quietened down now.

                Cheers, Tony.

There are still intermittent strong gusts that rock the mini GH on its base. It can't go anywhere thank goodness but this wind is wearying isn't it,
