Has Google Earth moved me again Jenny and does Aesculus know he's got a lodger? :heehee: It's funny, even the Royal Mail in England has been known to send our mail to the IOW before it comes here.

Yes. we're going to get battered again tomorrow, it's not too bad though, 45mph gusting to 70mph. We had hail and snow today, I nearly lost my other half on the way to work this morning and he didn't bother telling me until he got home. :doh:He was on high ground just 200 yards from the mountain road with sheer drops, he hit some slush and it took him off the road, luckily being so grassy up there the car came to a halt just feet from somersaulting down. He had to call his boss out to come and tow the car back onto the road. Both husband and car were shaken up but they are both still intact, thank goodness. :phew:

That's a close call @Sheal. I'm glad all ended well, although I suspect you may be putting the washing machine on tonight.

Are you getting that same storm that's going to pass over the country moving north eastwards? We've got an amber warning here, whatever that means, apparently unusually strong wind. My wheelie bins are tied up ready.

No washing needed Clueless, a good old fashioned sweetened cup of tea sorted him out when he got to work. :)

Yes we've got it tomorrow, I'm at my daughters tomorrow on the other side of the island, I think I'd best take my toothbrush in case I can't get home. I usually take the mountain road to get there but after my OH's scare today I shall have to go the long way round which takes ages.

An amber alert isn't usually too bad, well not here anyway. It rattles and moves things around a bit but doesn't tend to do any great damage, she says.....

That was lucky escape for o/h Sheal.
Looks like tomorrow is going to be yet another bad one, the sixth storm since Christmas.
70mph+ forecast here with torrential rain again.

It's awful outside now....strong gusts and it's throwing it down. The storm has been upgraded now and the north west is on a red with things getting worse up here as the day goes on. Stay safe everyone.

I heard on the radio that the shipping forecast has warned of force 12 (hurricane) conditions, close to the west coast.

I'll bring in the bird table & everything. It's already blown over the wheelie bin that was emptied earlier...

I must be getting used to this weather - just got the bins in a minute before winds and rain struck! It's all in the training

We've been battered here since early this morning. I abandoned the idea of going to my daughters today and glad I did. Part of my carport roof is flapping around and there's nothing I can do about that, I suppose that will have disappeared by tomorrow morning.

Our forecast has been updated to a severe gale for this evening..... StephenP you were right! We're now expecting winds up to 90mph and hail/snow into the bargain.

My Manx server is on the blink at the moment, so may lose this and/or electricity later.
