Storm on

Whereas here in Redcar, the controversial new sea wall design that many people are whining about has made our event pretty boring (thankfully) compared to what's happened elsewhere.

 

That was horrific but I felt compelled to watch to the end. I hope he got out of that OK Clue. Never, never underestimate the power of the sea,

I bet the owner has a really hard time with the insurance company. I can just imagine the telephone conversation:

Owner: I'd like to make a claim, total loss I'm afraid.
Insurer: What happened?
Owner: The car was destroyed by the sea
Insurer: Where was it parked at the time?
Owner: Right on the sea front.
Insurer: And when did it happen?
Owner: When the tidal surge arrived.
Insurer: Would that be the tidal surge that was forecast at least a full day in advance?
Owner: Erm, yes
Insurer: The one that forecasters warned would do damage to coastal property?
Owner: Erm, yes
Insurer: The tidal surge that was predicted to be bad enough to warrant widespread publicity and warnings, and evacuation of many coastal locations?
Owner: Yes that's the one.
Insurer: And you still parked your car right on the sea front, it wasn't stolen and abandoned there, or it didn't put itself there by some inexplicable means, but you put it there?
Owner: Er, yes
Insurer: And you'd like to claim for its total loss would you?

 

Read an article today, we lost 2 years worth of sand dunes though erosion in 1 day! That 10 metres depth. I have never seen this level of damage in my life.

 

It's back!! High winds and driving rain!

 

Yep it's grim out there. I've just been outside to put something in one of the wheelie bins and they'd travelled down the garden by themselves. Very windy now.

 

Seems like its a tropical storm thats wandered across the Atlantic, mad down here, rains lashing in sideways and all sorts of things banging about.

I heard Chitting Kaz had a door smash her in the face

 

It's very windy in the valley here to

 

Its blowing a gale here too, but not quite on the scale of the other week.

 

Very very very heavy rain and hail at the moment if it lasts a long time there going to be floods
