Struggling Bonsai Ficus Benjamina

    @pete I agree, I appreciate "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" but the photo in the link from @Victoria is much more pleasing on the eye, it's exactly how you'd probably see it from a long distance away.

      Sorry, but I don't think that is either a Ficus or a bonsai. The Ficus Benjamina bonsai below was my late mother's, grown from a shoot of my own 6ft Ficus in the image below that. If you compare the top of the trunk to yours Jules W you will see that the branches form naturally, whereas yours has a blunt top with the branches coming from the sides of the trunk. The patterning on the trunk of yours is not how I would expect a Ficus to look either. It's usually plain and almost smooth.
