Stuff refusing to flower

    I think that you can - it was a very long winter, spring was cold and then seemingly overnight we were in a heatwave!

    My Salvia elegans has refused to bloom, as has S.dolicantha too. A couple of reliable Eucomis have not bloomed either.

    With the eucomis, might it not be last year's season that is to blame seeing as it is a bulb?

    I don't think I can blame the late spring for the morning glory intransigence as it wasn't even sown until it was all over!

    Thinking about it, I usually have mysterious no-shows, I put it down to my brown thumbs. I was particularly cross about the brugmansia because all appears to be going well with it. It certainly didn't do much last year and it was the only one to survive the winter.

    They must have doubled in size last year!


    Blame some duff seed then!

    My Dahlias have been pretty cr*ppy this year.
    Really disappointed with them :nonofinger:

    Mine too. They were slow to start in the long cold spring, even in the conservatory :( and I think I should have watered them when we got the dry spell in June. But flowers are small - even my giant ones - and the colours are not as vibrant.
