Bee stings don't bother me overly much.

Wasp stings however :cry3: I had a wasps' nest in my flat roof a couple of years ago. Didn't mind too much as they weren't aggressive. Except the one that I caught in my dressing gown - thought I'd put it outside but it got caught and when I put my arm down it stung me. I had a reaction to it and an infected area that was about 15 cm long which took weeks to go down. Don't think I'll be doing that again in a hurry

I managed to get it outside eventually, so at least the wasp didn't suffer any ill effects from its ordeal

It would have suffered ill effects if it had stung me. Can wasps survive being made completely flat?:snork:

I know!? Just going on the old info leaflet I got when my allergy was diagnosed. Strangely I can find that, but not my emergency medication!

Bumble bees shouldn't die after they sting.. but honey bees do as half of their digestive system is pulled out with the sting.

Ive held bumble bees let them crawl over me.. allsorts yet ive never been stung.

You were unforunate. Anephelactic shock is the most worrying part of being stung.

Correct, but obviously only the females as the chaps have no sting! Still puzzled by Als suicidal bumble bee though (the consequence would be the same as for a honey bee)...................

Especially when you suffer from low blood pressure to start with.

Got a tiny sting off the biggest bumble bee I've ever seen yesterday. It was on my bedroom windowsill and I picked it up in an old shirt to put it outside but it stung me on the tip of my thumb. Thankfully it didn't do much damage but it stung a bit.
