'Sunrise & Sunset Images Only Please

Unfortunately a spectacular sunrise fizzled out just as I got outside the village this morning, but getting around to looking back over the last couple days found a sunset image from Thursday afternoon [1]




[1] I did something really silly that day, put a battery on to charge, checking the charger light was 'on', only to have it discharge after 3 shots. Discovered the charger wasn't plugged in and the LED light I saw 'illuminated' was only because I had a headtorch on at the time making it glow.

Same thing here this morning, luckily I just had time to get a few quick shots from the bottom of the garden before the colours faded.

This morning I thought there wouldn't be much visible through the fog



But when I stopped by a gateway it began to clear ...







Then walked up the hill a bit as it lit up more of the sky

We had a similar day here - a cold, foggy, frosty start was followed by a glorious sunny afternoon, then right at the end of the day, some really weird looking cloud formations. Not exactly a spectacular sunset, but I thought it worth taking a photo anyway.

 

Back from a 3 day break in Skegness to see my wife's Dad. Whilst there the weather was cold an frosty, 2 mornings were stunning winter mornings with the temperature down to -5 at dawn, but I couldn't miss out on a winter sunrise so myself and our 2 eldest boys got wrapped up and went down to the beach at 7.30 in the morning on Wednesday and Thursday and it was most definitely worth it!!!, absolutely awesome sight watching the sun rise on the horizon. The boys were transfixed and in awe of the spectacle, I got lots of photos, some including brilliant silhouettes of the boys against the sun. Still got lots to sort through, but here's a few

Sunrise this morning, the rising sun catching the underside of low snow clouds created some stunning effects, if you zoom in slightly right of centre you'll see snow falling on hills about 10 miles away, backlit by the sunrise, but the pic doesn't capture exactly how dramatic it appeared at the time.
