So atmospheric, Rosa. It makes me wish that I could have been there to see it happening.:thumb: Not much, as you say, Woo, but it's still a lot better than nothing at all. At least there is promise of something good on the horizon.:hehe:

You've done it again, Woo. They are both very colourful images, but then they are from the garden of England...

Hi everyone! For two evenings, I tried to produce the sunsets I saw from one of my windows. But, and there is always one, my eyes saw one thing, but the camera saw something else altogether in one particular case. In the first image, the sunset is from last Saturday and is almost an exact image of what both my eyes and the camera saw. If anything, it was slightly more orange in depth of colour.

The second image is of this evening comes nowhere close to being what my eyes saw, for in truth it should have shown everything in shades and tones of red shown in the next imageâ?¦ it was amazing. However, in order to get close to the result seen here, I had to play with the colour and luminance curves. Even so, it falls far short of the super colouring that I could see with my eyes. Please, can anyone tell me how I faithfully reproduce the natural colouring of my sunsets without turning to manipulation?

Hi Strawman Excellent Images ,I,m no expert but sometimes I use a Sunrise/set setting on my camera but most times I use manual and change my White Balance :thumb::)

Cheers, Woo. You know, it never ceases to amaze me just how many modes it's possible to find on digital cameras. There's something for just about every eventuality. I still have some on my camera that I haven't used yet, including the white balance adjustment that you have suggested. I appreciate what you've said, and so, I'll try this out this evening if the sun remains in the sky for long enough.:thmb:

Focus stacking.. yes. an interesting concept. Not something I have looked at yet but have every intention of so doing,
    Good luck with it

These are three images taken shortly after one another on Tuesday evening, where I used my partner's Canon Powershot A580. It has a mode for sunsets,

It maybe of interest to know that in each subsequent model of the Canon Powershot range, they added, and deleted certain modes according to their whim. Anyway, my A550 doesn't have the sunset mode, so she let me use hers instead. Wasn't that kind of her.:luv:
